🏐 UF Volleyball beats the Vols 🐊

 

Sunday’s volleyball contest against Tennessee marked the halfway point of No. 13 Florida’s 18-match Southeastern Conference schedule.
UF defeated the Vols, 3-1, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-17 to improve to 17-3 overall and 8-1 in conference action before an Exactech Arena crowd of 2,933 and an SEC Network audience.
The victory, Florida’s sixth in a row, was the 15th in the last 16 matches for coach Mary Wise’s squad, which remains tied for the SEC’s top spot with No. 16 Kentucky. Tennessee fell to 9-11, 3-7.

Gator Volleyball Sweep LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – The 13th-ranked Florida volleyball team swept LSU in Baton Rouge, La. on Sunday to extend its win streak to four matches.

 The Gators (15-3, 6-1 SEC) took the first set, 25-20, then followed with a 25-20 victory in the second set. UF secured the match with a 25-21 win in the final frame.

Gators rise in rankings.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators remained ranked in the top 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll following Saturday’s win at South Carolina.
 
The Gators jumped up two spots in the poll following it’s 38-27 win at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. this weekend. Florida (7-1, 4-1 in the Southeastern Conference) is ranked seventh in this week’s poll.
 
Florida is off to just its second 7-1 start since 2010 (it was also 7-1 in 2012 and 2015) and Dan Mullen is the fifth Gators coach in history to win 17 of his first 21 games.

Gator Volleyball wins on the road

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 14 Florida volleyball team pulled out a hard-fought victory against the Texas A&M Aggies, winning in five sets.
The Gators won the first set and second sets by a score of 25-23, before Texas A&M took the third set 25-14. The Aggies won the fourth set 25-15 to force a deciding fifth frame. Florida was down 9-3 in the fifth set, before storming back to win 15-12.
