🐊 Trask to return 🐊

It isn’t a surprise to hear, but Gators quarterback Kyle Trask isn’t leaving the University of Florida anytime soon.
The redshirt junior, who has started eight games for Florida this season, will not declare for the 2020 NFL Draft as things currently stand. Trask made that clear during his weekly press conference.
“I still have a whole ‘nother year here, so I don’t plan on leaving.” Trask spoke confidently about the decision, so don’t expect any change here.

🏈 Congrats Jonathan Greenard 🏈

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeast Conference announced their weekly honors for games played on Saturday, Nov. 16, as Jonathan Greenard was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in the Gators’ 23-6 win over Missouri on Saturday. The nod marks Greenard’s second consecutive SEC Defensive Player of the Week selection, while he was also named the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday.

Greenard posted a team-high six tackles, including five tackles for a loss of 23 yards, and two sacks for a loss of 12 yards in Saturday’s win over the Tigers to conclude the SEC slate. Greenard’s five tackles for loss marked the most by a Gator in a game since 2000. The Hiram, Ga. native also added one quarterback hurry in the victory, as he led a Gators’ defensive unit that held Missouri to just 256 total yards of offense. Additionally, the Gators’ defense has held opposing teams from the end zone for two consecutive games now.

 🐊 GO GATORS  🐊

🏈 Congrats ! 🏈

A pair of Florida Gators earned SEC player of the week honors on Monday afternoon following a decisive 56-0 win at home over the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Florida edge rusher Jonathan Greenard won SEC defensive lineman of the week honors after another stellar performance for the Gators this season. Greenard tallied three tackles on Saturday, while scooping up a fumble for an 80-yard touchdown return in the third quarter. The touchdown marks the Gators’ first defensive TD of the season, it was also the longest return since Quincy Wilson’s 79-yard return versus Missouri in 2016. He’s been a focal point of the Gators defense this season.
In a breakout performance, Florida freshman Mohamoud Diabate won co-freshman of the week honors. Diabate recorded a career-high 3.0 sacks, with one in each quarter, for a loss of 27 yards on Saturday. He also forced a fumble on his last sack, leading to an 80-yard touchdown on the fumble recovery.
