🐊 Welcome Coach Brewster🐊

The Gators lost a good tight ends coach this offseason but Dan Mullen appears to have found a way to upgrade his staff in the process.
Florida had an opening on its staff heading into National Signing Day as Larry Scott left the program to take over as Howard’s head coach. That was definitely a loss but according to FootballScoop and UNC 247Sports site Inside Carolina, Mullen has managed to lure North Carolina assistant head coach/tight ends coach Tim Brewster to Gainesville.
Brewster has a strong history as an elite recruiter for the likes of UNC, Texas A&M, Florida State and Texas and has multiple years of experience coaching in the NFL. During his college coaching career, 11 of his tight ends have moved on to the NFL.

🏈 Homecoming Set 🏈

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida already has its 2020 football schedule set but now fans can plan their travle plans for homecoming weekend.

On Tuesday, the Gators announced the date of their homecoming game. Florida will take on South Carolina on Oct. 3 in the Swamp, and that’s when UF will be welcoming back all of its alumni to campus for homecoming.

Florida has typically fared well in its homecoming game, posting a 68-26-2 record overall on homecoming. Florida hasn’t hosted South Carolina for a homecoming game since 2004, though, when the Gators won 48-14.

Coach Scott leaves Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida will not keep its entire 2019 coaching staff intact this offseason after all.
On Saturday evening, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported that Howard University is hiring Florida tight ends coach Larry Scott as its next head coach. Scott has been on staff at Florida for two years, joining Dan Mullen when he arrived in 2018.
Scott has helped oversee a successful position group at Florida, first molding a group of three seniors into a productive unit in his first year before helping develop sophomore Kyle Pitts into a massive mismatch problem for opponents during the 2019 campaign. Pitts racked up 54 catches for 649 yards and five touchdowns, leading all Florida pass-catchers.
