GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida will not keep its entire 2019 coaching staff intact this offseason after all.
On Saturday evening, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported that Howard University is hiring Florida tight ends coach Larry Scott as its next head coach. Scott has been on staff at Florida for two years, joining Dan Mullen when he arrived in 2018.
Scott has helped oversee a successful position group at Florida, first molding a group of three seniors into a productive unit in his first year before helping develop sophomore Kyle Pitts into a massive mismatch problem for opponents during the 2019 campaign. Pitts racked up 54 catches for 649 yards and five touchdowns, leading all Florida pass-catchers.
